JAMES C. (JIM) GRANGER
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Granger has served as the CEO and a member of the Wireless Ronin Board of Directors since May 2010. Mr. Granger joined Wireless Ronin Technologies in December 2008 as the company’s President and CEO. Prior to joining Wireless Ronin, Mr. Granger served as President for Toptech Systems Inc., a provider of software, hardware and data services where he oversaw a 20% year over year sales increase and a 50% increase in profitability. In November 2006, Mr. Granger negotiated the acquisition of Toptech by IDEX Corporation (NYSE: IEX).
From 2000 to 2004 Mr. Granger served as Director, President and CEO of Norstan Inc. (NASDAQ: NRRD), a communications solutions and services company. Mr. Granger oversaw the company’s restructuring, taking it from $8M a quarter in losses and $75M in debt to seven consecutive quarters of profitability and debt of less than $15M in two and a half years.
Prior to Norstan, Mr. Granger was Chairman, President and CEO of Digital Biometrics, Inc. from 1997 to 2000. Now named Identix, Inc (NASDAQ: IDNX), the company provides identification information systems that employ biometric technology. During his tenure the company gained profitability for the first time in its history and an increased market value from $20M to $200M in three years.
From 1995 to 1997 Mr. Granger served as President of the Access Platforms Systems Division of ADC Telecommunications. From 1989 to 1995 Mr. Granger held a number of senior management positions with Sprint/United Telephone Company. Mr. Granger started his career in telecommunications with 11 years AT&T and the Bell System.
In addition, Mr. Granger has served on the Board of Directors for Adaptive Broadband (NASDAQ: ADAP), IDS Group PLC, (LSE: IDG), the Learning Disabilities Association of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Business Partnership.
Jim Granger holds an undergraduate degree from Otterbein College and a Masters Degree from Ohio State University.
