SealyTouch™ Wins Silver OMA Award at GlobalShop 2007
MINNEAPOLIS - March 8, 2007 --Wireless Ronin Technologies (NASDAQ:RNIN), a Minneapolis-based digital signage provider, announced today that the SealyTouch project, a collaboration with Sealy, Inc. and Mullen Advertising has been awarded the Point-of-Purchase Advertising International's (POPAI) Top Merchandising Achievement Award in the Digital Signage category .
The SealyTouch project is the result of a collaborative effort between the client, Sealy , their advertising agency, Mullen Advertising, and Wireless Ronin Technologies. The goals of this project, as outlined by Sealy, were to enhance the customer shopping experience and provide creative retail sales associate training.
"Sealy identified specific goals to improve the in-store customer experience and Mullen created an interactive experience to fulfill those goals. The SealyTouch project clearly demonstrates the power of digital signage," said Scott Koller, Executive Vice President of Wireless Ronin Technologies. The SealyTouch is a kiosk application located in the retail mattress departments where Sealy products are sold. Shoppers can navigate the 32 inch touch screen for assistance in finding the mattress that best fits their needs by answering five simple questions about their preferences. The touch screen narrows down the selections based on how the questions are answered. With increased confidence in their mattress purchase decisions shoppers leave the store with a better overall buying experience..
"Today's mattress consumer is looking to Shop Easily, Choose Wisely, and Sleep Soundly,” said Tracey Denton, Sealy’s VP of New Business Development and Innovation. For her, value is no longer about quality and price alone. She is also looking for a shopping experience that saves her time. The SealyTouch system is easily the most effective tool we have found, to accomplish these objectives."
Retail sales associates (RSAs) can use the kiosk as a sales tool to help facilitate the sales process. There is a portion of the content that allows RSAs to log in and find training that teaches them how to use the kiosk. Sealy can also provide training on new product, features or sales for their RSAs through the kiosk, which can be updated remotely from a headquarter location.
POPAI’s Outstanding Merchandising Achievement awards contest continues to be industry’s largest and longest running awards contest. The annual competition recognizes the most innovative and effective marketing at-retail displays and programs that lift sales and make products memorable and enticing to consumers.
