Job Description:
Title:  Technical Architect
Reports to: VP, Technology
Based at: Canadian Office - Windsor, Ontario

The Technical Architect analyzes and evaluates business and technical challenges in order to devise, document and direct technical solutions.Well developed communication, analytical, teamwork, collaboration and client management skills are required.

The Technical Architect is expected to provide leadership, guidance and advice to developers, other Technical Architects, WRC staff, and clients, particularly with regards to the Technical Architect’s areas of expertise.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

• 8+ years of experience in all stages of software design, development and implementation. This includes custom applications as well as the deployment of packaged solutions. Where experience is lacking the Software Architect will take the initiative to pursue training and experience.
• Demonstrable experience of effective time management practices.
• 2+ years demonstrable experience of delivering end-to-end software solutions.
• Detailed knowledge of one or more of the flowing software application design and development methodologies: Rational Unified Process, OOA/OOD, Structured Programming, Agile Programming, Extreme Programming, Aspect Oriented Programming
• Should be familiar with common requirements gathering software and analysis & design tools like ERWin, ERStudio, Rational Rose & Requisite Pro (and other Rational Products), Visio, etc.
• Should possess a firm understanding of project management methodologies, particularly technical project management. Actual project management or team leadership experience (1+ years), is a bonus.
• Programming language expertise and experience (min. 1 year), consisting of (but not limited to), one or more of the following the following tools/technologies: Macromedia Director, Macromedia Flash, Java/J2EE, .NET. ASP.NET, ASP3, C#, C, C++, Delphi, MS-SQL Server, T-SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML/XSL, Web services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

• University Degree or a College Diploma in a programming-related discipline (or equivalent experience when approved by the Director of Technology)
