Job Description:
Title:  Technical Writer
Reports to: VP, Technology
Based at: Canadian Office - Windsor, Ontario

The technical writer works closely with architects and analysts to develop architectural, technical and quality assurance documents.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

• 3 + years experience writing end-user and technical software documentation
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent technical research skills
• Negotiation Skills
• Apply an expert level of correct grammar and spelling in US English
• Apply an expert level of technical writing style
• Detail-oriented, deadline driven, and goal-focused
• Experience using Visio and/or Rational Rose
• Possess a knowledge of current writing principles and practices
• Possess experience in all phases of document creation, from template design to publication/online help.
• Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrate outstanding information development skills, understand both the content and structural form of the material, be creative in forming new patterns or structures, and to judge the value of material for a given purpose.
• Demonstrated experience working throughout an iterative software development process, and an understanding of how to work with evolving specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, flexible, independent, creative, and able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with sound experience in researching and writing user documentation or a certificate in Technical Writing.
